Big day today.

We had not only ONE (1), not only TWO (2), but THREE (3) things to celebrate. In case you missed the show (?), I’ve created a brief rundown of what happened on this glorious, beautiful, slightly humid day.

  1. Firstly, it was Thors-day! We began the show by celebrating the man that we love to love, the heir to the realm eternal, the wielder of the mighty Mjölnir, the God of Thunder (THUNDER), Mr. Thor Odinson! How did we celebrate? I played a song that had the word Thorn in it (but kindly asked listeners to ignore the ‘N’ at the end) and shared a picture of a hedgehog wielding Mjölnir (probably a fake hammer, TBC).thorhedge
  2. Secondly, it was the day the internet has dubbed as a ‘throwback’. On this day, people like to look back at the past, and be reminded of happy memories. I played multiple songs from the 70’s and 80’s to ‘throw me back’ to a simpler, happy time (I was born in the 90’s). The biggest, and best, throwback came at the end of the throwback hour, where I threw the entire show back to December 1979, and played the classic Christmas hit ‘I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday’. About 30 seconds into the song however, I realized it wasn’t Christmas everyday, and decided to end it early.   wizzard
  3. Finally (Thirdly) today is the 50th Anniversary of ‘Star Trek’. One of the greatest TV shows ever made, I made sure to celebrate in style. Listeners were treated to William Shatner’s version of ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’. It was an absolute delight, and I believe brought a tear to everyone’s eye. Every second of it’s 5 minute run time was a privilege, and I would love to play it everyday, but probably won’t. Celebrating ‘Star Trek’ in such fantastic style was the perfect way to end this triple threat of a show. LLAP.
